Bullying is Never Okay

The Park

Max was playing on the swings at the park. He loved to swing high, almost touching the clouds! Suddenly, a bigger kid came over. "Hey, give me your turn!" the kid said, pushing Max off the swing.

Max felt a little scared and confused. He sat on the bench, feeling sad and a little bit shaky.

Art Class

The next day, at school, the same bigger kid took Max's favorite red crayon during art time. "Mine now!" he said, laughing.

Max felt his tummy get tight. This wasn't fair, and it was happening again. He felt too small to do anything.

At Home

At home, Max told his mom, "Mom, something happened today. The same kid who pushed me off the swing also took my crayon. It made me feel really sad and scared."

His mom listened carefully and hugged him tight. "Thank you for telling me, Max. That sounds like bullying, and it's never okay. We will make sure you are safe."

Being Brave

Max's mom talked to his teacher. The teacher helped the bigger kid understand that bullying is wrong. Max learned that telling a trusted adult is a brave and important thing to do. It helped him feel happy and safe again!

Important Things to Remember:

What is Bullying? When someone is mean on purpose, again and again, and makes you feel sad or scared.
It is never okay to bully someone.
It is always okay to tell a grown-up you trust.
Grown-ups want to help you feel safe and happy!
