Parent/Teacher Reads Story

Introduce the lesson by explaining that you will be talking about staying safe and what to do if something makes them feel uncomfortable or sad.
Distribute the Social Story: Bullying is Never Okay Reading.
Read the story aloud (or have parents read it), pausing to discuss how the characters feel.

Define Bullying Together

"What did you notice about how the characters felt in the story?"

Define bullying: When someone is mean on purpose, again and again, and it makes someone feel sad or scared.
Emphasize: Bullying is NEVER okay.
Use Slide 2 for visual support.

Identify Trusted Heroes

"Who are the grown-ups at home or in your family who you trust?"

Facilitate the Trusted Adults Discussion.
Explain: These adults are your "heroes" who will listen and help you.

Role-play using these sentence starters:

"Someone was mean to me, and it made me feel..."
