Scholarly articles are arguments, not objective truth. They are shaped by:

QUESTION EVERYTHING.

"Countries with higher chocolate consumption per capita produce more Nobel Prize winners." (Messerli, 2012)

What's missing here?

Correlation ≠ Causation. What is the confounding variable?

Wealthy nations afford more chocolate.

Wealthy nations have better education infrastructure.

The correlation is real; the conclusion is a reach.

Is N sufficient to generalize? Is the sample representative or convenience-based?

Self-reporting (bias) vs. Observation (objective). Are the tools validated?

Do the findings apply broadly, or only to a specific sub-culture or timeframe?

Who funded this? Does the author have a vested interest in the outcome?

We are going to look at three seemingly "robust" studies. Your job is to find the methodological crack that makes their conclusions crumble.
