Lesson 3: Save the Drama Aggression

Objectives

Define relational aggression (exclusion, manipulation).
Identify roles: Bully, Victim, Bystander, Upstander.
Practice "Upstander" skills to support the herd.

Procedure

1. The "Invisible" Llama (10 mins)

Discuss anonymity and exclusion. Introduce relational aggression: hurting status/friendships.

2. Roles in the Herd (10 mins)

Define roles using slides. Emphasize the Upstander as the "Herd Hero."

3. Upstander Action (15 mins)

In pairs, practice the "P" techniques: Partner with the victim, Pause gossip, Promote something else.

4. Closing (5 mins)

Complete Reflection Log 3. Identify their specific Upstander superpower.

Facilitator Tip: Remind students: "Being brave doesn't mean you're not scared; it means you do it anyway." Encourage them to be friendly to everyone, even if they aren't best friends.
