20 MIN
Video Viewing & Discussion
Watch the video "Lighthouse Lab – The Aussie Outback". Pause at the following timestamps to check for understanding:
3:40 (Koalas)
"Why do you think eating food with low nutrition makes the Koala sleepy?"
Answer Idea: They don't have enough energy for running or playing!
4:25 (Snakes)
"Why would a snake want to be darker in winter and lighter in summer?"
Answer Idea: Darker colors soak up more heat from the sun to stay warm.
6:15 (Thorny Devil)
"How does a false head help protect the lizard?"
Answer Idea: It tricks predators into attacking the wrong spot, giving the lizard a chance to escape!
STOP THE VIDEO AT 10:33 BEFORE THE QUIZ STARTS.
