Introduction: What is a Goal?
Gather the "explorers" in a circle. Introduce the concept of a goal as a target or a destination on a map.
Discussion: Ask, "If we were going on a jungle trek, how would we know where to go?"
Sharing: Have students share a time they finished something hard (learning to ride a bike, tie shoes, etc.).
Key Point: A goal is a plan to achieve something you want to do.
02 15 min
Craft: The Goal Tree
Students create a visual representation of their aspirations.
Teacher Tip: Pre-cut tree trunk shapes for younger students to save time. Focus on the "leaves" being the unique goals.
Distribute construction paper and markers.
Instruct students to draw a tree. On each leaf, they write one thing they want to get better at.
Encourage them to include one "Big Dream" leaf at the very top!

Active Play: The Success Scramble
Organize a relay or obstacle course (e.g., crawl under a vine, hop over a swamp, climb a mountain).
The Metaphor: Explain that each station is a "Small Step" toward the "Big Goal" at the finish line.
Reflection: After the race, ask: "Was it easier to reach the finish line by doing one jump at a time or trying to leap over the whole course at once?"

Worksheet: Mapping the Path
Hand out the Goal-Setting Worksheet . Guide them to pick ONE leaf from their tree and break it down into three specific steps based on what they learned from the obstacle course.

Closure: Explorer Check-In
Administer the Goal-Setting Quiz . Wrap up by having students do a "Victory Dance" to celebrate the start of their journey!
